The two czech staff working there had only started the day before and didn't know much. I was quoted 8/night (the cheapest rate) on the phone when I made the booking 6 weeks in advance, yet charged 9.50 ('because they can't guarantee you'll get the cheap dorm beds'). Was in a very very cramped room with 5 other people (2 double beds with a single bunk on top) and there was very little room, and not much ventilation. There are only 2 showers and 2 toilets. With approx 30 people this is nowhere near enough. Then one of the showers stopped working. The place wasn't terribly clean. And there was rubbish/recycling piled up out the back which stank. The other hostel stayers I met were really nice (there is a good atmosphere), but must say I was pretty disappointed.""

Great hostel. Cheap. Really close to university area, Arnie and staff really friendly people!! A room with fire... make you stay warm while some chatting. It's a victorian house with just few beds... great option if you stay in Belfast. They organize Black Cab tours if you are interested (maybe a bit expensive but a must)

Great backpackers the best I have ever stayed at. Herman the German is full of great stories and they are well worth listening to. Arnie is superb. His two dogs Rosie & Snowie are the cutest and funniest dogs going. The no check out time is dangerous as once you have checked in you just don't want to leave. Ask about the walk highly recommend it.

This is a great little hostel located within a short walk to the city centre. The rooms, bathrooms and kitchen are resonably clean (could use a little improvement). The part I loved the most about this hostel was the incredibly friendly staff who made you feel like you were at home and just the overall welcoming environment (a good mix of travellers and long termers). There is a lounge with no tv but that just encourages people to hang out and chat. The owner Arnie is nice and his dogs are often hanging out in the house. Just as an added note, like the other hostels in Belfast they also organize Black Cab tours for guests who are interested (a definate must do btw).""
