I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Prague11 December 2004
This place was great. The location is fine: Smichov is a pretty decent neighbourhood, not dodgy at all, and it's not THAT far to downtown. I walked every day, and it never took me longer than 25 or 30 minutes. And it's a very pleasant walk along the Vltava. When you first arrive on the metro though, it is kind of hard to locate the footbridge across the train tracks. Well it took me 15 minutes, anyway. But the hostel more than makes up for that. The breakfast is substantial and yummy. The rooms are spacious, and thankfully devoid of dunk beds. The showers are as good as you'll find in Europe. And the rooftop terrace is a great place to relax with a beer or two before heading out into the Prague nightlife. An excellent hostel.
Nice, but don't believe the hype!5 October 2004
Nice hostel, as mentioned by others. Clean, decent bathrooms - though only 2 showers and 2 toilets for the whole floor - towels provided, nice breakfast (cereal, bread, ham, cheese, coffee, OJ) also free. Thin but OK mattresses and those weird E Euro huge very thin pillows. However, dont beleive the brochure. Its NOT 10 mins from Charles Bridge - its 5-10 min walk to the tram/metro, and THEN 10 mins on the tram or metro into the old town. The supermarket is NOT 500m, its about 30 mins walk, etc etc. But its not hard or a problem.

Stayed in a double room for 4 nights - great value for money. Very clean and pleasant rooms and bathrooms, and fantastic helpful staff. Internet and breakfast were provided. It is a little way out of town: about 3-4 metro stops, but the metro station is less than 10 minutes walk from the hostel and service is regular and fast. There is also a tram stop right outside, but trams were not running on this route in June/July 2004 due to roadworks in the area. Only other drawback was that location is on very busy road so there is a lot of traffic noise in some rooms, especially in summer when you need to keep windows open. Overall though excellent - I will stay here again.
Great hostel, friendly staff, good showers!12 February 2004
I stayed here for 8 nights in Jan/Feb 2003. Difficult to fault it. Comfortable bed, pleasant surroundings, nice staff and excellent value. Bit tricky to find at night if you arrive at Smichov station (go over the footbridge). 5 minutes from centre on tram which runs every 4-5 minutes during day. Subway recovering from floods when I was there. Staropramen brewery within walking distance with pleasant bar. Give it a try.
better than home!6 January 2004
Nerly refurbished accommodations, immaculate, shower better than home, here in snowy winter but the heat is excellent. Really only a 5 min. walk on a pedestrian bridge over the tracks from the station--from there an easy ride anywhere, including the airport (with a bus transfer) 12-15 crowns.
Ikea furnished, Very Clean and Brilliant Staff.10 June 2003
My Boyfriend and I have just spent 3 nights in prague and booked our accomodation last minute well the monring of our departure and were not disappointed by the quality of this hostel. The staff were great from the first phonecall, as she managed to get us a room that late in the day and reorganised room arrangements for us when we wanted to stay longer. We thoguht it was too good to be true but it when we arrived we had a private double bedroom, clean, airy, clean bathrooms atoilets and showers, towels were provided - and the advice and welcome we received was great and really helpful. The location is only 10 minute walk accross a bridge - really safe not dodgy at all - thought it was at first but after the 2nd walk we realised it wasn't at all. Its 10 min tube ride but nothing too bad compared to some commutes I have done in london!Trains come literally every 2-10 minutes and its bang on time. Breakfast is included and it was one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in to date. We bumped into some nice people too and the anytime internet access was included which was a refreshing change! So if you don't mind doing a little commute its worth staying at.
