Perfect hideout and friendly, hospitable owners

Cons
Public transport is few and far between, make sure you have your own transport!
Pros
Owners are the best hostel owners I've met. Hostel is great, good facilities, spacious, and very clean. Area is fabulous; step away from famous McLaughlins bar!

I keep landing back at this hostel time and time again; love every stay. The hostel is great considering the value you get. Facilities all good, really clean, warm, and best of all, the owners are incredible people. Dom and Mary, thank you for everything you've done. My partner and I have never met such welcoming and friendly people (and thank you for all the Irish whiskey and Guinness, almost as good as the Scottish!). You don't find places like these anymore. See you again soon.

The Blue Moon feels like home. The owner, Domenic, and his family live in the adjacent part of the building. The rooms are clean and spacious. Shower facilities are a little limited in the hostel itself, but there are additional showers available for folks camping. The coolest thing is that there is a sink in each dorm room, so you don't have to wait for someone to get out of the shower to brush your teeth. The common area is cozy and the kitchens (one for hostel and one for campers) are well stocked. Take time to talk to the locals. Be sure to go across the street and enjoy a pint and live music on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Take time to enjoy the craic.
