This is the worst place I have ever enetered in all of my life. The extrenal parts are awful but it only gets worse inside. I stayed for 2 days and was soo ill after leaving. Reception is never open to get key deposit back. VILE VILE VILE. Dont stay here under any circumstances. The rooms are cramped the beige carpet is black. I had 6 showers a day when i stayed here and still felt dirty. The linen closet smells of old sweaty men. Communal walkways are awful. Its like a haunted house! My advice DONT STAY HERE!!!! :(

This hostel is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. We stayed here for two nights because it was the final of the Aussie Rules Football and we couldn't get anywhere else. It is very basic and rundown, and I don't think anything was clean. It's the type of place where you walk in and don't want to touch anything, you just want to leave. The walls were probably white once upon a time, but now they are yellow. The sheets are also a yellowish colour. There didn't seem to be many people about, although not surprising really. There is a common area, but we didn't stick around to see what it was like. It was a case of dump your stuff and spend as little time as possible there. The kitchen is average size, but hardly has any dishes, and again everything was dirty. Even the location wasn't very good. It seems to be in the middle of Melbournes 'Red Light District.' As soon as it got dark, there was a prostitute on every corner. If you are a girl on your own, I wouldn't go near this street. We got stopped by cars and curb crawled on more than one occasion. I would not recommend this hostel to my worst enemy.

I booked this place on the internet, and got the worst shock of my life when I arrived. The man got the money off us before we saw the room, there were pigeons in the kitchen, sh*t on the toilet floor, and a dosshouse out the back for old alkies, one one whom peed on the couch. Also there were hookers trying to hire rooms and hanging around outside screaming at anyone who made eye contact. Never ever go there!!

since i was working at a hostels reception in adelaide, i know that you need to be friendly and have a good attitude towards traveller. what i experienced with this hostels staff is far away from beeing friendly and helpful. i just wanted to know how to get to the airport and this guy started to scream at me because i doubted for a second that there is no public transport at all ( and there is..see lonely planet). i apologize for interupting your breakfast at 12 o' clock...this hostel sucks!! by the way: the bin in my room didn't get cleaned for 4 days..

Fully agree with Kai... what a kip!!! The lounge and internet rooms do look alright, but make sure you check out your room before you book in. Fag ends, dirty dishes, food scraps everywhere, the dorm itself stank like a pig's shed. Seedy, shabby, disgusting! Invest an extra $5 or so and find yourself a decent hostel.

Stayed here for one night because I couldnt find anywhere else as the tennis was on. This is a grotty, dirty unfriendly place. The room had not been cleaned and there was a thick layer of dust EVERYWHERE! The bed was so bad I ended up sleeping on the floor! This one time when I was 12, we went to our local park and saw two old men playing with their willys. I thought that was dirty-est thing I had ever seen until I saw this hostel!

We arrived here after seeing an advertisment in tnt, the place wasnt as it was advertised! Although it was cheap and quiet. The hostels facilities were being improved when we were there with new cooking facilities in place. At first we thought we'd made a mistake booking in here, but after a week here we decided to stay longer. The cheapness of the hostel and the close proximity to the beach and main streets made it worthwhile. To sum it up, an old hotel with friendly people and great access to everywhere.
